Antibiotic
Zyvox is a synthetic antibiotic prescribed for the treatment of infections caused by

Susceptible organisms include:

Zyvox is a member of a new class of antibiotics called oxazolidinones.

Dosage
ADULTS AND ADOLESCENTS 12 AND OLDER
Enterococcus faecium Infections
The usual dose is 600mg every 12 hours for 14-28 days.
Uncomplicated Skin Infections
Adults: The usual dose is 400mg every 12 hours for 10-14 days.
Adolescents 12 years and older: The usual dose is 600mg every 12 hours for 10-14 days.
Pneumonia and Complicated Skin Infections
The usual dose is 600mg every 12 hours for 10-14 days.
CHILDREN (BIRTH TO 11 YEARS OLD)
Enterococcus faecium Infections
The usual dose is 10mg for every 2.2 pounds of body weight taken every 8 hours for 14 - 28 days.
Uncomplicated Skin Infections
Children under 5 years old and 5 - 11 years old: The usual dose is 10mg for every 2.2 pounds of body weight taken every 8 hours for 10 - 14 days.
